\u201cA happy journey through life\u201d \u2013 join Autism-Europe\u2019s campaign for World Autism Awareness Day 2022<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

On April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD). On that occasion all other partners of the Erasmus+ project WIN-WITH-U join their fellow stakeholder<\/em> Autism-Europe in an awareness raising campaign with its member organisations dedicated to \u201cA happy journey through life\u201d.<\/em><\/a><\/p>

\"\"<\/p>

At the heart of Autism-Europe\u2019s current campaign is promoting the needs and wishes of autistic people and their families with regard to key issues such as access to personal choice, education and employment. The campaign is also indicating that adequate support for inclusion in the community, independent living and access to health are vital to ultimately improve quality of life of children and adults on the autism spectrum. This illustrates that a holistic approach<\/strong> is needed across the lifespan to ensure autistic people can live happy and fulfilling lives.<\/p>

The project WIN-WITH-U aims to improve the inclusion of people on the autism spectrum in the working system. This will be achieved by raising the employers\u2019 awareness through provision of targeted training and by supporting people on the spectrum in their job-searching process. After all, finding not just a job but the right job is a major step for a better quality of life of autistic people in line with their \u201chappy journeys through life.\u201d<\/p>

\u201cInclusive quality education for all\u201d – join Specialisterne at United Nations World Autism Awareness Day observance<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>

To fulfil the potential of autistic people and achieve sustainable success in the labour market, inclusive quality education must be fostered for all autistic learners. WIN-WITH-U project partner Specialisterne from Denmark joins the United Nations (UN) 2022 World Autism Awareness Day observance<\/a>, in an event dedicated to inclusive quality education for all. The event is organized by the UN Department of Global Communications and UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, with the support of civil society partners including the Autistic Self Advocacy Network, the Global Autism Project and the Specialisterne Foundation.<\/p>

What is <\/strong>WAAD<\/strong><\/a> (World Autism Awareness Day)<\/em>?<\/strong><\/p>

Designated by the United Nations General Assembly resolution 62\/139 in 2007, it encourages all UN Member States to take measures to raise awareness about autism throughout society and to encourage early diagnosis and early intervention. WIN-WITH-U partner Autism-Europe together with its member organisations regularly conducts campaigns that raise awareness of autism and the rights of people with autism across Europe.<\/p>
